1. Tell us about you .
Monique Feige, fine art portrait and wedding photographer. Soon to be based once again out of Arizona! I've been shooting almost 5 years. I adore bold imagery with delicate details (anything from feminine wardrobe to beautiful light flares).
2. When did you learn photography ?
I took one film class in college that made no sense to me. About 5 years afterwards I was gifted my first digital camera that I self taught my way thru as much as possible and never looked back.
3. Whose work has influenced you most ?
I would say Annie Leibowitz,The Blissful Maven, and Taylor McCutchan made the biggest impact on me as of last year. This year I'm digging further into more photographers' works and of course Sugar & Lace Studio is a big crush of mine along with Sophie Kaye Photography.
4. How do you educate yourself to grow in your art ?
I began like most people, with youtube videos and any tips I could google about my camera. Unfortunately I started out before #communityovercompetition was a big movement and every single photographer I messaged for small questions would ignore me. I try to decide on one workshop per year that I feel will focus on something I want to work on, an aspect I feel I want to improve. Another really good investment was the Blissful Maven breakout- big bang for your buck. The best thing you could ever do is just keep shooting! Photograph your loved ones, friends, landscape, macro. Just dig in and work with your gear til you know it inside and out.
