I created this video because I wanted to show you guys how I sometimes tweak my images when I edit with my presets!
The first thing I like to do is make sure my horizon line is straight and aligned before I adjust my white balance. For this image, I adjusted this white balance to daylight for my outdoor beach setting.
Then comes the fun part, applying my preset! I make sure to go through all my presets to find the one that best fits all the images for the session I’m editing. The preset I chose for this collection was “3D Williow”.
Right away we can see my preset was a little too much for this particular photo, so we’re going tweak! We start off by increasing our shadows and blacks, and decreasing our whites and our highlights.
After that we want to reduce our exposure so that our image has just the right level of brightness before we lower our oranges using the orange saturation slider. We also go in and reduce our vibrancy so that it’s a little more subtle.
I want my sky to look a little darker, so we’re going to use the burn tool to make it a bit more dramatic, but we make sure to be careful not to over do it! I play around with it to make sure everything looks the way I want it, and that’s it!
I hope you enjoyed seeing my “tweaking process” and hope to be sharing more with you soon!
